Position: ETL Developer
Location: Louisville, KY
Duration: 7 months contract to hire
Description:
Designs, develops, and delivers data from operational systems and files into a staging area, ODSs (operational data stores), Data Warehouse, downstream Data Marts and files. This role can involve working to tight deadlines and when necessary, long hours. IT professionals working in this will also be needed to be available for call-outs on evenings and weekends on a rotating basis. Experience working directly with user-group. Solid written and verbal communications and documentation skills. Self-starter. Attention to Detail. Works in agile environment. Respond quickly and effectively to any issues that prevent data flow is existing systems. Develop new solutions that are effective and efficient (SQL Query tuning Partner effectively with Application Developers, Business Analysts and end users. Take initiative to recommend improvements. 3+ years experience BS degree, or greater in a computer discipline, relevant certification, or equivalent experience
Job Summary:
Technically capable with coding languages commonly used in ETL development including SQL, Java, XML and several data warehouse architecture techniques such as EDW, ODS, DM, ROLAP and MOLAP. MS SQL Server, SSIS, SSRS experience is required. Have experience troubleshooting and solving technical data issues and transformation problems.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
ETL (extract-transform-load) developer
Works in development of ETL code, metadata definitions and models, queries and reports, schedules, work processes and maintenance procedures.
Designs, develops, and delivers data from operational systems and files into a staging area, ODSs (operational data stores), Data Warehouse, downstream Data Marts and files
MS SQL Server, SSIS, SSRS experience needed. Develops and deploys ETL job workflow with reliable error/exception handling and rollback framework
Understands automation of file processing as well as all ETL processes within a job workflow
Performs the unit testing, system integration testing and assist with user acceptance testing
Adapts ETL code to accommodate changes in source data and new business requirements
Documents the ETL detailed design and test results
Able to develop simple, complete useful solutions
Understands and is responsible for database object development, security and connectivity services, batch scripting, automation, scheduling, and columnar data structures
Responsible for technical design for BI – including materialized views, Stored procedures, reporting views, MOLAP structures

Required Qualifications
3+ years’ experience MS SQL Server, SSIS, SSRS
Strong experience and skills in SQL and PL/SQL
Understands logical and physical ETL designs and the importance of operational performance requirements
Reporting and analytics tools – SSRS, MicroStrategy, Tableau
Microsoft Sql Server services
Understands compliance with regulatory requirements for data transmission, storage, and data access including documentation, testing, and remediation
Has experience with subject matter experts, department Leaders and consultants to define and execute cross-functional data movements
Education:
BS degree, or greater in a computer discipline, relevant certification, or equivalent experience
