Skills Required:
Core competency in IBM Datastage ETL (Extract, Transform and Load) solutioning as well as strong Oracle database skills is a must.
Provide Fixed Income domain specific technical expertise and leadership to develop integration solution spanning business processes, platforms and environments.
Understanding of financial data related to different types of assets, holdings, transactions, performance, securities processing and portfolio accounting systems.
Prior experience in analysis, implementation, documentation and testing needs of a large and complex Database and Data Warehouse environment.
Lead overall execution of project development pipeline with full adherence to SDLC best practices.
Collaborate closely with the solution architects and other technical and business leads to provide implementation details for selected solutions.
Responsible for ensuring the recommended design is followed through to implementation through reviews of high-level and detailed design documentation.
Articulate technology and solution direction in a manner that both technology and business can understand and rally around.
Ability to create conceptual models to capture system wide requirements.
Technical Skills and Experience:
Expert knowledge of IBM DataStage ETL with at least 5 years of hands-on experience is required. Experience in the Investments / Financial setting is strongly preferred
Building sequencers and parallel jobs
Good familiarity with various DS stages - Transformers, Lookup/Merge/Join, Aggregators, Change Capture, test and dataset(binary) files reading/writing
Familiarity with concurrent processing and ability to optimize processes, identify and resolve performance bottlenecks and deadlocks
ETL / Database interaction - Oracle (Enterprise and Connector), SQL Server / ODBC Connector
Ability to understand and write own Datastage routines.
Familiarity with Datastage Director, Datastage Admin, Operating Console tools
Datastage v. 11.5 or higher in the Linux / Unix Server environment is strongly preferred
Strong experience with Oracle 11g or higher - at least 5 years of Oracle experience is required
Good understanding of Oracle on DB architecture level and Oracle SQL & PL/SQL developer''s level
Ability to write and understand complicated queries, views, stored procedures, packages
Familiarity with Oracle DB architecture, schemas, permissions handling, object types, synonyms, aliases, materialized views etc.
Know various Oracle data types and type conversion methods
Efficiently operate strings, dates, numeric data, both interactively (e.g. through TOAD or SQL Plus or similar tools) and programmatically (PL/SQL
Analytical mind-set with hands-on skills in writing SQL queries to profile the data sets; ability to analyze, summarize and mine data, find data patterns and logical data dependencies
SQL Server Database 2-3 years of experience required
Good familiarity with Datastage Server Migration is an additional plus
Ability to read and understand business and functional requirements documents, distill and summarize relevant information and translate into technical terms. Writing technical design documents and operational runbooks
Hands-on development mentality, ability and willingness to troubleshoot and resolve complex problems
Good familiarity with Microsoft Office tools - Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, Project
Familiarity with Business Objects and Business Intelligence tools a plus
