We have the following requirement open with one of our clients in Houston, TX 77042 for an ETL Data Programmer.
ETL Data Programmer
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:-
In this role you will use your knowledge of PL/SQL, SQL, and ETL theory and practice to design and execute the migration from various origin data sets into the client''s database PPDM data model.
The ETL data programmer works under the technical supervision of the chief database architect to ensure that client origin data is accurately reflected in iGlass at the end of the ETL process.
Great organizational ability, a high level of attention to detail, the ability to multi-task, a natural curiosity and a desire to learn are also required for this role.
Key Responsibilities:-
* Perform data profiling and analysis of origin data sets, research and resolve problem data prior to migration.
* Develop ETL maps from origin data set sources such as Trango, eSearch, Excel, or custom databases to destination iGlass PPDM data model for approval prior to execution.
* Design and perform data migrations per the approved ETL map using PL/SQL, SQL, ETL theory and practical experience.
* Create Oracle database objects such as tables and views as needed in order to support these migrations.
* Learn the PPDM data model as deployed since that is the destination for most ETL tasks.
* Perform peer review and QC the similar work of colleagues.
* Assist in research and development projects when not working ETL tasks.
Skills Required:-
* ETL (Extraction, Translation and Loading) expertise * Strong Oracle PL/SQL and SQL including basic DDL, DML tasks
* SQL Loader and Oracle import - nice to have * Unix scripting (nice to have)
* Familiarity with industry standard data models for Oil & Gas domain such as PPDM
* Excellent oral and written communications
* Impeccable attention to detail
* Ability to multitask, prioritize
* Familiar with database change control and promotion processes
* Team oriented
Required Education and Experience:-
* Bachelor''s degree in computer science or equivalent experience
* 5+ years of ETL experience in data profiling, data mapping, and ETL execution using Oracle
* PL/SQL and SQL * Some JAVA programming knowledge a plus
* Knowledge or experience in oil and gas exploration highly valued
* Knowledge of PPDM data model highly valued
Travel
Occasional regional and international travel may be required.
