Responsibilities:
Analyze large customer data sets using a variety of database query and visualization tools
Deploy analytic models within the various self-service reporting systems and environments
Partner with the clients Data Warehouse team to support migration of ETL, Tables, Data, etc. into the Enterprise Data Warehouse.
Manage new data requests by partnering with business owners to help define business rules and translate into data-driven results designed to meet leadership objectives.
Perform ad hoc analysis to solve operational issues and provide data for business cases.
Provide technical expertise in extracting, integrating, and analyzing customer critical data
Compile and verify daily, weekly, and monthly customer focused executive reporting
Design and develop key performance metrics and indicators using standardized and custom reports
Develop a solid understanding of both client and Enterprise Data Warehouses and be able to interpret the data
Work closely with leadership to design and execute all initiatives set forth
Knowledge and Skills:
Advanced SQL coding skills with the ability to develop new logic as well as interpret, modify, and enhance existing queries
Strong knowledge of database query tools such as Teradata SQL Assistant and SQL Server Management Studio
Advanced knowledge of BI/Reporting tools such as Tableau and SSRS
Advanced Excel modeling skills (pivot tables, advanced functions, Visual Basic etc
Scripting knowledge with Python / Unix shell scripting
Excellent written and verbal communications skills
Strong organizational skills, detail oriented and process-driven, with an orientation toward continuous process improvement
Strong time management and prioritization skills with a demonstrated ability to execute against multiple projects, adapt to changing priorities, and excel in a fast-paced, results-oriented work environment.
Analytical with strong problem solving ability
Proactive and self-directed in work habits
Experience - Must haves!
5+ years coding advanced SQL queries, ETL automation, and stored procedures to support business inquiries
5+ years of demonstrated reporting, analytical, and database experience in a dynamic business environment
Advanced BI/Reporting Tool experience (SSRS) required.
Experience with transforming complex datasets into relevant visualizations
Familiar with relational database technology and terminology
Functional Competencies:
SQL coding proficiency (5+ years)
Microsoft Reporting Services (SSRS) – Ability to develop advanced reports, manage subscriptions, etc.
Microsoft Integration Services (SSIS) - Ability to manage SQL Server ETL processes / job failures, etc.
Relational database development (SQL Server, Teradata)
SQL Server – Table, View & Procedure development
Teradata environment experience
Teradata SQL Assistant experience
Excel – Charts, Pivot Tables, Equations, VBA
Tableau experience a plus
Oracle experience a plus
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree required (preferably in Information Systems, Business Intelligence, or Computer Science) with related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and abilities can be acquired.
A sound technical background with the ability to analyze complex data sets, business processes, and quickly adapt to the use of new technologies.
Must have excellent communication skills with the ability to share technical capabilities and work cross-functionally between business functions.
