Required Skills : ERP experience as a Project Manager (Oracle ERP, SAP, PeopleSoft, or Workday)
Typical program, project and process improvement initiatives are large-scale, multiple-project programs to implement significant business process changes for a large number of diverse stakeholders. Project impacts and risks are likely to be cross-university and include potentially politically- and time-sensitive constraints.

Sr. Project Manager will:
Work with client, stakeholders, senior executives, project team, and functional and IT SMEs to ensure that project deliverables are achieved on schedule and within budget with a high level of quality and customer satisfaction.
Manage the analysis, planning, initiation, execution, implementation and closure of multiple overlapping programs and projects.
Gain thorough understanding of the major components of the program deliverables and methodologies to achieve stated goals
Provide early identification of program risks and facilitate resolutions in a timely and effective manner
Escalate risks that require sponsor or stakeholder involvement in a timely and effective manner and provide feedback loops on resolutions
Sr. Project Manager will be required to work directly with senior level client managers on defining and managing a portfolio of projects and a multi-year road map for implementation of software tools and/or organizational design.
Essential Duties
Independently manage multiple complex, high risk, IT projects as part of a single large program.
Responsible for all aspects of the management of highly complex multi-year program, providing a single point of accountability for the program’s business and IT stakeholders.
Manage stakeholder expectations throughout all phases of a project by using appropriate project management methods that effectively address concerns of senior management, functional owners and staff involved in the affected business processes.
Build relationships with assigned clients, develop an in depth understanding of assigned client operations and processes and advise on and facilitate the development of process improvements and supporting IT infrastructure.
Gain a thorough understanding of client expectations and project/scope constraints to provide early identification of risks and effective resolution of gaps.
Gain a thorough understanding of the process to create analytics deliverables in order to provide early identification of execution risks and effective resolutions.
Develop and manage a Rough Order of Magnitude project budget estimates for periodic project evaluations and budget discussions.
Facilitate dialog regarding project success criteria and ensure projects achieve stated success criteria.
Direct responsibility for the creation, execution and implementation of complex, detailed project plans in concert with internal and external stakeholders, observing and refining project plans, scopes and budgets, and ensuring the development and management of communication, risk management and quality plans.
Create appropriate resource plans, work breakdown structures, schedules, budgets and controls to promote on-time, on-budget completion of project deliverables.
Follow and contribute to the continuous improvement of the Yale SDLC and Agile Methodologies as appropriate.
Ensure project deliverables comply with Universities policies, FERPA, HIPAA and any other applicable laws and regulations
Manage program forecast to within 10% of budget through Design, 5% through Development and 2.5% or less through project completion.
Mentor other department Project Managers.
Education and Experience
PMP Certified
Bachelor''s Degree in Management Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, or a directly related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Ten years of progressively more responsible IT program and project management experience involving both complex software implementations with significant experience in enterprise wide projects,
Experience identifying and analyzing vendor capabilities and use of appropriate metrics for decision making
Experience with working with senior leadership
Additional Education and Experience

Desirable: Five years’ experience facilitating process improvement initiatives and/or organizational design improvements.

Proven ability to see the “big picture” and to help customers build out strategy prior to identifying project objectives.
Extensive stakeholder management experience involving senior and executive level Clients from diverse areas.
Demonstrated ability to successfully plan, lead, and execute multiple, complex programs and projects.
Project management experience with large enterprise-wide analytics projects for ERPs such as Workday, Oracle, PeopleSoft, or SAP.
Familiarity with BI deliverables such as data vaults, dimensional models, metadata, visualizations, pixel perfect reports is preferred.
Demonstrated ability to deal effectively with project-related ambiguity and create clarity with sponsors and stakeholders with diverse views and opinions.
Ability to estimate complex projects, develop compelling business cases and create complete and accurate financial analyses.
Excellent collaboration, facilitation and problem-solving skills. Excellent ability to lead change by partnering with diverse sets of stakeholders and colleagues to affect a common outcome.
Superior customer service orientation and initiative. The ability to build strong relationships and establish credibility as a trusted advisor and work in concert with multiple organizations to accomplish goals and objectives.
The ability to translate business needs into business/functional requirements and to formulate action plans in an organized fashion.
Advanced experience as an enthusiastic, motivating leader that will bring out the best in the team, while understanding and acting on strengths and weaknesses within the team.
Demonstration of successful use of a standard project management methodology and understanding of standard SDLC and agile processes (PMBOK, etc
Demonstrated ability to lead effectively in a matrix environment. A critical component of this is the ability to influence resources to adhere to work plans where there are competing priorities and little formal authority over those resources.
Experience training/mentoring others in project management skills and SDLC/agile; helping less experienced team members understand the value in the process and structure
Ability to effectively employ industry-recognized software tools for professional project management and business analysis.
Ability to coordinate and manage program activities of third parties such as consultants and to hold them accountable for timely submission of stated deliverables.
Ability to take multiple, conflicting inputs from internal and external team members, analyze, rationalize, and plan next steps with broader picture in mind.
