JOB Description:


1.1. SCOPE OF WORK:


Client is seeking one Strategic Advisor to develop a Request for Proposal (RFP) for an Energy Trading Risk Management (ETRM) system. The consultant will conduct a Fit/Gap analysis on Client’s existing systems and identify the requirements necessary for an ETRM system that best fits within organization’s landscape. The consultant may be retained to act as a trusted advisor responsible to oversee the ETRM implementation effort, provide guidance to Client staff, and validate the design of the ETRM system integrator.

More specifically, the consultant will perform the following duties:

1. Understand Client’s strategic plan and Energy Trading and Settlements roadmap.

2. Review Client’s current energy settlements and trading processes and related system architecture.

3. Perform a Fit/Gap analysis to compare the business and user requirements with the standard set of features in an ETRM solution.

4. Lead the effort to gather and document functional and technical scope and requirements from stakeholders for inclusion in the RFP.

5. Develop a detailed RFP for an ETRM application and implementation team.

6. Review, approve and ensure all requirements, functional and technical design, and future state processes are fully documented end-to-end and in compliance with best practices.

7. Assist Client with vendor selection. Work may include writing demo scripts and reference checks.

Mandatory Requirements

1. Must have experience gathering and documenting business requirements in the ETRM space.

2. Must have implemented Front-office to Back-office processes in ETRM systems

3. Expert knowledge of Best in Class ETRM systems and ability to articulate the capabilities and differentiators of each system.

4. Must have experience communicating with and presenting to executive level IT and business stakeholders.

5. Must have experience leading/mentoring functional and technical teams to optimize processes and systems.

6. Must have strong analytical/problem solving skills and experience in analysis of wholesale market activity.

7. Excellent written and verbal communication skills required.

8. Provide references from three electric utilities with those knowledgeable of your work where you have performed similar scope of services.

9. Must have recent experience with technical integrations in a complex system landscape at a US electric utility.

10. Proven experience writing Request for Proposals in the utility space.

11. Experience integrating with ISO (Independent System Operator) market systems.

12. Experience integrating with ICE (Intercontinental Exchange) trading systems.

Desirable Qualifications

1. Understanding of Asset Optimization software such as Power Costs Inc.’s software suite

2. SCRUM and/or PMP certified
