EDI Developer-Addison, TX-Full-time
Salary: Up to 120K

Key Skills :

Must have EDI experience (HL7, X12)
Healthcare required but anyone with EDI will have that experience
ETL Experience is required (They use Talend so that is preferred but not a must have)

Role: EDI Integration Developer/Specialist

The EDI Integration Developer will function as specialist and developer in acquiring and loading HL7, X12 and FHIR data from clients. This position will be responsible for developing, testing, and implementing EDI tools/processes and will also provide guidance/assistance to client/vendor on setting up processes to extract and deliver data. This person will have a strong understanding of the various Healthcare data standards, and will serve as the subject matter expert for all EDI related requests.

Primary Duties:
· Set up processes to acquire HL7, X12 and/or FHIR data from client/vendor

· Implement tool/process to process/parse data received

· Design database models to capture all data elements, create database, and load data

· Provide guidance or assistance to client/vendor on setting up processes to extract and deliver data for consumption

· Analyze, design, develop, test, troubleshoot, optimize, enhance and maintain EDI related applications in various formats that include HIPAA standard formats such as 837, 835 and other proprietary formats

· Create and maintain interfaces between applications systems and EDI transaction

· Maintain documentation and process flow of all EDI processes

· Evaluate and implement new or modification requests for EDI applications/processes/maps

· Conduct research and make recommendations on products, services, protocols, and standards in support of EDI processing and data transfer efforts

· Conduct research to answer questions about EDI applications and how the data is organized and populated

· Develop detailed source to target mapping from client data to various EDI specifications as well as data transformation documentation and explain the mapping to team members

· Query data, compile data analysis, trends, error analysis and other information to assist clients to improve their EDI transactions

· Act as the liaison between business partners, clients and software development team

· Work on other projects as assigned

Experience:
· 3 – 5 years’ experience in EDI mapping, development, tools and HL7 (v2 or v3) / X12 standards as it relates to Healthcare
· 2 – 4 years’ experience with Relational databases, such as Microsoft SQL Server
· Experience using Talend as an Integration tool is highly preferred
· Ability to write SQL queries to load/extract data to/from databases/ODS
· Development experience with 834, 835, 837, 277 and other standard EDI transactions
· Experience with FHIR standards desired
Essential Skills:
· Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combinations of education and experience
· Clear understanding & working knowledge of HIPAA EDI protocol
· Excellent communications skills both written and oral
· Very strong technical knowledge in related field
· Ability to manage and complete multiple concurrent projects in a timely manner
· Take initiative in the development and completion of projects
· Strong organizational and time management skills
· Excellent problem solving and analytical skills

Desired Qualities:
· Experience working in Microsoft Azure environment highly desired
