Job Description
Nebraska Department of Transportation / Business Technology Support Division is seeking dedicated Application Developers to join our team of performance driven professionals in helping to build the best of web based applications in support of NDOT’s business units. NDOT utilizes Agile development methodology.
Requirements:
* Qualified applicants will have a Bachelor's Degree in Web Development/Web Design or hold a Technical Degree in Computer Science (or equivalent combination of education and minimum 5+ years web development experience
* Explore and gain a thorough understanding of the business.
* Troubleshoot problems and provide support on existing products and services.
* Work as part of a software development team in the implementation of projects.
* Be able to create the following diagrams: High Level Architecture Diagrams, Database Schema Diagrams, Class(Entity Diagrams), Security Patterns and Constraints.
* Perform daily tasks of analysis, programming and testing as needed.
* Assist with; capturing business requirements, design, .NET architecture and development.
* Develop applications in MVC pattern with MSF CNET, HTML, JavaScript, CSS and XML that interact with the Department's Information Systems.
* Experience in software development utilizing Agile with SCRUM required.
* Perform front-end, middle-tier and back-end development.
* Extremely detailed oriented and able to follow Department standards.
* Strong verbal and written communication skills.
* Candidate must work on-site at Department of Transportation, Lincoln, NE. (telecommuting is not an option)
* Regular and reliable attendance is required.
Experience with:
* Test Driven Development
* Telerik Tool set
* #
* Visual Studio, C#, ASP.NET, MVC
* XML and XSD Schemas (Altova XMLSpy or oXygen XML Developer is a plus)
* Web Services and Windows Services.
* Microsoft SQL Server and TSQL.
* HTML5, CSS, JavaScript, front end development.
* SQL (Structured Query Language
Preferences:
* Experience with application development in accounting/financial or transportation systems.
* Experience with designing and building secure ASP.NET applications.
* Experience with SSRS reports.
* Experience with Agile development methodology of 2+ years.
* Experience with DB2.
