Job Description:
This multi-faceted, mission-critical position is responsible for designing, planning, implementing, maintaining, and supporting applications used by New York City school teachers and administrators. The applications supported by this position are key systems for scheduling and tracking academic progress of 1.1 million students. Because of the criticality of these systems, it requires someone with an expert level ability who can quickly, efficiently, and effectively implement system changes to ever changing academic policy.

Daily Tasks include but not limited to the following:
1. Develops and implements phases of the computerized system development life cycle, including conceptual design, software development, testing, deployment, and post-implementation enhancements of applications utilizing Visual Studio .Net with SQL Server for data management and Active Directory for identity management, in accordance with Department of Education standards.
2. Analyze requirements and data access needs and propose file and screen designs. Deploys the applications to multiple environments, from development through Quality Assurance, Staging and Production, and conduct unit and integration testing.
3. Design and develop complex user interfaces using ASP.Net & Kendo/Telerik controls.
4. Designs database tables utilizing import or export data from SQL Servers into other data sources on a daily basis through the development and coding of stored procedures and triggers, as needed.
5. Utilizes Microsoft Team Foundation Server (TFS) for source control, data collection, reporting and project tracking, testing and collaboration of project development.
6. Develops SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) packages and Web Services.
7. Codes new objects (programs) in .net to meet the requirements of the Department of Education.
8. Conducts user acceptance review sessions and collaborates with other team members to perform debugging.

4 24+ Months of experience with HTML5, jQuery, Angular JS, JSON, JavaScript, Bootstrap #of months 10
5 24+ Months of experience with .Net Web Services, WCF or Web API #of months 10
6 24+ months of working experience on Team Foundation Server (TFS) #of months 5
7 Bachelor’s Degree #of months 5
8 Any Microsoft or similar developer certifications #of months 5
