Job Description :
Title: Senior WebSphere Application Server Administrator
Location: Charlotte, NC
Tenure: 6+ Months

LOCALS HIGHLY PREFERRED.

Responsibilities:
Manage and support WebSphere and Tomcat environments including capacity & topology planning, application deployments, configurations & tuning
Design, build, maintain, monitor and troubleshoot WebSphere Application Server (WAS), Tomcat, Apache, IIS installations for internal applications, 3rd party packages & product deployments
Perform regularly scheduled upgrades & product patches
Work closely with application support personnel to operate business critical systems
Performance management and tuning of IHS, WebSphere, IIS, Tomcat and other application servers
Work with product Vendors & Partners for support escalations and issue management
Represent team in corporate projects/initiatives
Participate in Disaster Recovery drills
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics or Engineering or similarly qualified background
9+ years total systems experience:
o 5+ years in WAS 7.0 and above on AIX, RedHat platforms, 32 and 64 bit JDK
WAS ND, WAS Liberty, WAS MQ
o 5+ years in AIX v6 and above, or RedHat v5.0 and above
o 3+ years in Tomcat 6.0 and above on AIX, RedHat platforms, 32 and 64 bit JDK
o 3+ years in IBM HTTP server, Apache HTTP server
o 3+ years experience in TCP/IP, Internet Technologies, Network Technologies
o 3+ years experience with other Java Application Server platforms (Tomcat, , Weblogic, JBoss, etc
Java System Interface Configurations (JDBC, JMS, Integration Bus)
Knowledge of WAS Clustering, Tomcat clustering, Virtual Enterprise, HTTP server load balancing, Firewall communications, etc.
Expert understanding of Enterprise Application and Application server configuration options in WAS environments
Expertise in managing and configuring SSL certificates, Global Security
Experience with WebSphere performance monitoring tools like TPV and PMI, ISA
Experience with Multi-Node management of Tomcat servers
Experience in developing JACL/Jython scripts to automate deployments and updates
Experience with WebSphere IVR (Interactive Voice Response) a plus
Experience with Microsoft IIS Administration, Maintenance, Clustering a plus
Strong Trouble shooting skills
Flexible schedule and available for after hours
Excellent oral and written communications and customer service skills
Strong communication, collaboration & organization skills - Proven ability to work with all team members and peers
Familiarity with disaster recovery planning/methodologies a plus
Strong information gathering, proactive planning, documenting & forecasting skills
