Overview:
The System Analyst will be responsible for the overall success of a COTS based project, including requirements definition, configuration, testing and rollout.
As a System Analyst, they are responsible to deliver a technical solution to meet a business need. They will be a liaison between functional user and technical systems group. He or she will lead the definition of user business requirements, leading/performing application configuration & customization, creating & executing on test plans, performing hands-on functional & user acceptance testing and rollout.
The position will also require a level of technical knowledge to custom and configure COTS products, and knowledge of database/web service/integration with other enterprise systems. Ideally the candidate will have come from a development background and either transitioned into Systems Analysts or has a desire to move in that direction.
Job Requirements:
Five to Eight years job-related experience
Experience in leading COTS implementation projects
Experience or knowledge of Web services, ETL and other integration techniques.
Effective analytical and presentation skills
Experience or skills in requirements elicitation and documentation
Ability to lead others to articulate additional possibly hidden needs
Skills in business process analysis and workflow diagramming
Skills in data organization and analysis, problem solving, systems documentation
Strong verbal, written and interpersonal skills; ability to tailor communication to different audiences, such as management, stakeholders, users, SMEs, developers, and others
Ability to communicate and work effectively with both functional area experts and technical team members
Experience overseeing user acceptance testing and providing test cases
Experience of SQL, database and relational data models. The ability to be able to write SQL queries is needed.
Excellent organizational experience and professionalism
Self-motivated and able to work independently
Prefer (but not required) experience in TMA and/or JobBoss software products
Expected Projects in the next 6-8months:
Rollout/enhance a Facilities and case management application for GTRI-Support Services department using TMA or similar COTS product.
Rollout/enhance a Machine shop management application for GTRI-Machine Services department using JobBoss or similar COTS product.
Rollout a new Facilities lease management application for GTRI-Support Services department using TMA or similar COTS product.
Education:
A Bachelor’s degree is required: Preferred degree in an IT related field
