Lead Full Stack Java Developer

Location: SAN FRANCISCO, CA

Duration: FULL TIME

Client is a leader in the open source application security arena

Our CLIENT platform scans thousands of applications a day at every stage of the software development process. We strive to be the index of the worlds open source library and vulnerability data and use this data to give our customers actionable insights

We are looking for someone who wants to help lead the building of our application security platform for modern software development.

Primary Responsibilities:

? Help lead an engineering team to architect, design, develop, and deliver on roadmap initiatives while also making individual code contributions.
? Engage and plan with product management, user experience and other engineering groups to ensure the features are understood, help break them down the user stories to tasks and work with the team to design and then implement them.
? Work with other engineering leaders to drive engineering best practices around testing, CI/CD, architecture and automation.
? Contribute to the design and development of the client’s platform.

Qualifications:

? BA/BS degree in Computer Science or related technical field or equivalent practical experience.
? 4 years of technical leadership experience leading small teams
? 8 or more years of experience in Software Engineering.
? Strong coding experience in Java (also prefer experience with Go and JavaScript
? Experience with development frameworks such as the Spring framework and React.
? Development experience using AWS or other cloud products.
? Experience with popular open source software such as Postgres, RabbitMQ, Elasticsearch, Redis and Couchbase.
? Proficiency in designing, building, and debugging distributed systems.
? A solid understanding of networking concepts including subnets, routing and layers of the OSI model.
? Knowledge of containers and container orchestration platforms.
? A mindset for automation using CI/CD systems, such as CircleCI, GitLab CI, Jenkins, Travis, or similar
