Barrister Global Services Network Inc. is currently looking for a motivated, highly detailed, organized and outgoing individual to support one of our major nationwide clients. The successful applicant should be able to quickly adapt their knowledge to the current IT environment and be able to enhance the current systems in place. They should also possess excellent verbal and written communication skills so as to be understood by technical and non-technical personnel.

Job Summary :

You will work in an Agile environment building new experiences and enhancing current sites/applications in the digital space. Work will include both design and construction of new software as well as maintenance of existing production software. The right individual for this role will be a motivated and energetic developer who takes initiative, enjoys finding solutions to a varying number of challenges, is detail-oriented, and takes extreme pride in their work.


Essential Job Functions:

Lead and participate in the design and implementation of large and/or architecturally significant applications
Mentor team members in web development principles, patterns, processes, and practices
Build partnerships across application, business and infrastructure teams
Communicate effectively with both business and technical audiences
Document designs and specifications
Implement solutions that can solve common problems
Research relevant technology trends and recognize trends that are relevant to the retail industry
Participate in off-hours on-call rotation (24x7)



Requirements :

Candidates should be US Citizens or have a green card
In-depth experience with web development standards and best practices to build efficient cross-browser web applications from mockups and maintain existing websites.
Demonstrated experience with developing Java RESTful web services in an enterprise production environment
Demonstrated experience with unit and performance testing of Java web services (JUnit, JMeter)
Demonstrated experience with Spring web services and core Spring concepts (AOP, DI)
Demonstrated experience in creating and utilizing REST and SOAP-based web service clients
Demonstrated experience in the mechanisms of enterprise software development including source control, repositories, Wikis, continuous integration and the like
Demonstrated experience with javascript libraries, ideally angular.js
Demonstrated experience designing and architecting scalable and resilient enterprise software
Willingness and availability to be a part of a 24/7 production support team on a rotating basis


Preferred :

Familiarity with Agile methodologies and pair programming a plus
Familiarity with NOSQL databases (SOLR, Cassandra, MongoDB) a plus



Employment Type: Contractor (12 months with extension )
