PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The Client Assistance and Rehousing Enterprise System (CARES) the agency’s case and sheltering management system and is used throughout the agency and the DHS provider network. The application drives business processes throughout the agency (e.g.: intake case and questionnaire, diversions, shelter assignments, outreach, assessments, service plans, invoicing, claiming, etc, for all types of services offered by DHS (shelter, Outreach, Home-based preventative, permanent housing, etc. The current version of the application is at the end of life and support.
Tasks & Duties
Perform Integration and Deployment
Write Chef Cookbooks and recipes to automate the application deployment process and to integrate Chef Cookbooks with Jenkins jobs for a Continuous Delivery framework
Import volumes, launch EC2, RDS, S3, IAM, Route53, VPC, Code Deploy, and create security groups, auto-scaling, load balancers (ELBs) in the defined Virtual Private Cloud connection
Maintain system’s infrastructure using JENKINS and multiple AWS tools.
Perform System Implementation/ Coding
Develop and implement Software Release Management strategies for various applications according to the agile process.
Design and implement Continuous Integration and Delivery model with products like Jenkins, Red Hat Linux , Stash/Git, Java, Maven
Use GIT for source code version control and integration with Jenkins for CI/CD pipeline.
Perform code reviews as needed to ensure overall quality of codebase, minimize defects, and maintain best practices across development teams
Required Skills
Minimum 7 Years Experience using Version Control Tools such as BitBucket and Git Tools
Minimum 7 Years Experience with MAVEN CI Tools such as Jenkins; .NET
Minimum 7 Years Experience with AWS stack (Compute, Storage, Database, Network, Management and IAM
Minimum 7 Years Experience building and supporting highly available and scalable infrastructures
Minimum 7 Years Experience in Atlassian tools such as Bitbucket, JIRA, Confluence, and Bamboo
Minimum 7 Years Experience handling DevOps, including architecting existing initiatives
