Development Manager
Location; New York City/Hudson Yards, NY, Dallas, TX
Duration: 12 Months
This position is responsible for leading a talented, cross-functional development team in enhancing the retail, store and digital systems specifically including but not limited to; web site, mobile apps, Point of Sale, sales audit, customer engagement, and store associate support. We''re looking for someone who not only has a strong technical background, but who has a passion for people management, team execution, and delivery. You’ll be working closely with other teams and departments to deliver new features and maintain the systems. This position will work with the Product Management team to assure requirements are clear and execution is efficient. This position is not a software architecture position but will work with the software architects and the DevOps team to make sure the product architecture vision is well communicated and considered in initiatives.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Manage the delivery of software
Maintain and expand an efficient and productive development team, continuously ensuring that execution and quality is kept high
Identify any impediments the teams may have in fully delivering software initiatives and ensure they are removed in a timely manner
Establish a baseline and maintain metrics on release progress and development efficiency
Implement best practices with the software engineers, DevOps, and QA through example, guidance, and training
Communicate effectively with team members, internal, and external customers
Qualifications and Requirements:
Proven experience leading development teams in Agile Development Methodologies
Scrum Master training and experience. Proficient using JIRA to track software initiatives
Experience with team-based development
Strong collaboration skills with QA, DevOps, and Product Management
Experience building out development processes such as issue tracking, release management, and QA
Ability to understand technical requirements, architecture, and coding concepts
Excellent time management skills and ability to prioritize
Ability to manage several activities in parallel
5+ years of software development experience
3+ years of management experience
