Barrister Global Services Network Inc. is currently looking for a motivated, highly detailed, organized and outgoing individual to support one of our major nationwide clients. The successful applicant should be able to quickly adapt their knowledge to the current IT environment and be able to enhance the current systems in place. They should also possess excellent verbal and written communication skills so as to be understood by technical and non-technical personnel.

Job Summary :

The Developer is responsible for leading the design, development, testing, debugging, maintaining and documenting software components in accordance to Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) best practices. In this job you will have overall responsibility in the technical design process , leading the application technical design process until it completes. You will work closely with your team in order to provide data feeds to many applications as well as a host of third party vendors. Current tools and technologies used by the team include Ab Initio, Informatica, AIX/Unix, Unix Shell Scripting, Tivoli Workload Scheduler (TWS), Connect Direct, SQL Scripting/Stored Procedures, Databases (DB2, Oracle)


Essential Job Functions:

Participate in the application technical design process.
Develop programming specifications. Design, code and unit test application code using SDLC best practices.
Complete estimates and work plans as appropriate for design, development, implementation and rollout tasks.
Create technical system documentation and ensure that this documentation remains current throughout all phases of the SDLC.
Communicate timely status, including any potential risks/issues to the appropriate teams to ensure that assignment releases are managed appropriately and that completed assignments are of the highest quality.
Support and maintain applications utilizing required tools and technologies.
Provide support for applications, including involvement with the Support Center, NOC, Infrastructure teams, and vendors as appropriate.
Build partnerships across the application, business and infrastructure teams.
Lead and participate in the design and implementation of large and/or architecturally significant applications.
Champion company standards and best practices.
Work to continuously improve software delivery processes and practices.


Requirements:

US Citizens and Green Card candidates only
Over 7 year(s) of experience
Experience with Business Objects (Webi and Crystal
Bachelor''s degree in IS or related equivalent work experience in an Information Systems position.
4 - 6 years experience in systems analysis, design or programming and the associated development methodologies with medium size or medium level complexity projects.
Prior experience with project planning with medium size or medium level complexity projects.
