DevOps Support Engineer

Duration: 1 year

An experienced Operations Support specialist who is excited to be a part of a geo-distributed organization supporting multiple cloud, on-premises and hybrid application infrastructures. Intimate knowledge with traditional waterfall and software-defined (DevOps) deployment models into pre-production and production environments. Develops, documents and maintains operational practices, processes, and runbooks/playbooks that provide continuous operational improvements to enhance availability, performance and reliability. Previous experience working in a Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) desired but not required.

Responsibility:
Takes lead on incident management (IM) engagements troubleshooting loosely coupled high distributed application architectures to a subsystem granularity.
Independently determines and develops approaches to solutions.
Receives general direction for work that is reviewed upon completion for adequacy in meeting objectives.
Ability to develop, document and maintain operational practices, processes and runbooks/playbooks.
Ability to provide comprehensive failure/impact analysis related to incidents and provide Root Cause Analysis (RCA
Ability to provide regular identification of monitoring gaps, resource utilization, warning thresholds as it relates to operational excellence.
With general direction, provides guidance to less experienced employees.
Ability to deploy traditional waterfall and software-defined DevOps deployment models (Blue/Green, AB, Canary
Provides subject matter expertise and guidance on operational excellence to project and portfolio groups.
Supports operational and integration issue resolution of application/services solutions.
Evaluates proposed solutions to problems.
Participates in process/procedure reviews.
Completely understands and applies job practices, techniques, standards, principles, theories, and concepts.
Maintains employer required training in a timely fashion.
Possesses general knowledge of other related disciplines.
Experience with cloud platforms (Azure/AWS
Experience with cloud automation tools (Jenkins/Artifactory/GIT etc as it applies to the role.
Experience with Software configuration management, build and test automation as it applies to the role.
Ability to create and present management-level presentations as it applies to the role.
Interacts frequently with inter-organizational personnel and internal and external customers. Represents the organization by identifying root-cause to difficult technical issues associated with specific projects.
Excellent communication skills with an exceptional command of English.
Provides effective communication to business and technical community on behalf of the domain.
Leads the definition of operational support principles, guidelines, patterns, and standards.
Monitors the implementation of applications throughout the domain and provides technical mentoring, guidance and clarification to other support specialists and technical implementation resources.
Creates, maintains and edits technical documentation.
