Our client, one of the twelve regional Reserve banks in the Fed System, seeks an accomplished DevOps Operations & Automation Engineer.

Description:
Produce and implement Ansible playbooks, Python scripts, and bash shell scripts for the purposes of automating application deployments, system and middleware configuration management, performance and health monitoring.
Work closely with Java developers in application troubleshooting, design, and continuous integration from an operational perspective.
Monitor and respond appropriately to outages and alerts, escalating issues as needed. Work with partner IT organizations to develop, document, and implement solutions in a consistent, repeatable manner.
Respond to Service Requests and Service Restoration tickets. Plan, document, socialize, and implement Change Requests.
Develop and maintain detailed, shared technical process and procedure documentation, including processes for contingency operations.
Implement necessary patches, hotfixes, service packs, cumulative updates, upgrades, and configuration change to maintain security compliance and application integrity.
Research, document and implement new technology solutions. Work extended hours as necessary to maintain existing or implement new technology with minimal customer impact.
Participate in on-call rotation. Travel occasionally – up to 5% the time. Handle other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
7-10 years’ relevant experience. Proficient in Oracle Solaris, Red Hat Enterprise Linux, and other UNIX / Linux distributions. Windows Server experience is a plus, but not required.
Proficient with administration and troubleshooting of complex infrastructure applications and middleware, primarily Java application servers and web servers.
Basic understating of the function of Java application development, including source code repositories, source code builds, and application deployment. Java application development experience is a plus.
Expert knowledge of enterprise technology concepts, such as file permissions, TCP/IP, packet capture, log parsing, web development, content management systems, and XML.
Knowledge of enterprise computer system components, such as Storage Area Network, LAN/WAN, server hardware and virtual technologies, such as VMware ESX/vSphere, and cloud operations.
Basic knowledge of relational and multidimensional database management systems, such as Oracle RDBMS, Microsoft SQL, MySQL, PostgreSQL, and Oracle Essbase.
Basic knowledge of incident and change management systems, such as BMC Remedy and Atlassian JIRA.
