As a Systems Engineer at you will be working on a DevOps/Systems/feature team in a continuous integration, deployment, and automation environment. You will be deeply involved with the design and build process of our next generation of customer-facing applications and underlying infrastructure. We are looking for a candidate who is highly self-motivated, can independently troubleshoot technical issues, explore new and emerging technologies, and work with a team of engineers to build an amazing product that will be used by millions of customers each day. Design and build high-performing applications and infrastructure that will enable a continuous deployment and delivery pipeline
Develop reusable, scalable, and testable automation scripts and tools for routine and repetitive tasks
Conduct performance tuning and capacity planning activities across an entire infrastructure stack
Troubleshoot and expeditiously resolve escalated software and infrastructure related issues and challenges
Explore and evaluate new and emerging software tools and technologies
Advocate DevOps best practices and mentor engineers across the company and within the local community

Basic Qualifications:
Experience migrating on-site solutions to cloud based offerings, such as Amazon’s AWS
Strong familiarity with a combination of the following: VMWare, KVM, OpenStack, CloudStack, Amazon, RightScale and various Cloud abstraction layers, and understand the importance of selecting the right technology tool for the task
At least 1 year of experience developing applications embracing Agile principles
At least 1 year of experience with a formal version control tool (Subversion, Git, TFS, or ClearCase)
At least 2 years of experience with large-scale infrastructure designs, implementation, and support

Preferred Qualifications:
AWS Certified
3+ years of experience creating recipes with Chef, building cookbooks
3+ years of experience using cloud based hosting solutions (AWS-EC2/S3, Azure, Google Cloud)
3+ years of experience with automation tools for server provisioning and Open Source tools (Ansible, Cobbler, Ironic, Chef and Chef Metal)
3+ years of experience developing automation workflows and routines, using Open Source Tools (Chef, Puppet, Hudson), or Vendor Based Tools (HPSA/OO, vCAC, uDeploy)
3+ years of experience with large-scale software implementation (high transaction volume, high-availability concepts)
2+ years of experience with Linux, server automation and scripting
2+ years of experience with current licensing strategies around Open Source (Apache Foundation, GNU, MIT License)
