Job Description:
-The DevOps Engineer will work closely with Developer teams and technology management to collaborate building rock solid, fast and scalable architecture.
WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING:
-Helping build and support a fully DevOps/ChatOps pipeline and modern technology stack (MEAN) for a high traffic website CarandDriver.com.
-Focus on Automation. Build tools that will help automate as much of the process as possible. DRY.
-Supporting auto scaling, high-traffic web applications on Amazon Web Services.
-Help educate developers on how to program to scale.
-Help with stories/scenarios. Actively participate in the scrum/Agile process.
-Help monitor traffic and suggest new technologies that may result in cost savings.
WHAT YOU SHOULD KNOW:
-How to support a site that needs to scale for high traffic volumes.
-Familiarity with the Agile Scrum software development methodology.
-Knowledge of TDD and continuous integration.
WHAT YOU NEED TO HAVE:
-Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
-Must have a good sense of urgency and feeling of ownership over what you are assigned to.
-Must have a strong desire to do great things, as a team.
-Must have an open mind and be willing to learn new things.
-3+ years in a development / systems administrator / devops role.
-Must have experience in some of the following: Amazon Web Services (API Gateway, ElastiCache, EC2, S3, SNS, SQS), AngularJS, Node.js, GitHub, CircleCi, New Relic/DataDog, Terraform, Docker, NoSQL / MongoDB, CDNs (ex: Fastly)
