DevOps Engineer Data Platform & Data Science
SAN JOSE, CA
Responsibilities
The liaison between production platform and data scientist teams
Define and implement models and processes to intelligently deliver and self-heal other models and infrastructure systems in production
Work with platform and data scientist team to help define the development to production workflow
Produce production ready models provided by the data scientist team
Develop custom Spark jobs
Some travel may be required
Drive decisions based on data and not assumptions
Open knowledge sharing with other team members and willingness to mentor
Qualifications
At least a master''s degree focusing in machine learning
At least one, peer reviewed, published paper of relevance
Demonstrated experience in creating production ready models
Solid and defensible opinions about algorithms and models for large scale, safety critical systems in production.
Demonstrated ability to work in a collaborative, data-driven, start-up environment.
Team player with an innovative mindset to think outside the box
Flexibility to adjust to changes in priorities and ability to deliver within constraints
3+ years demonstrated experience with Python, Scala, or Java
Experience with the SMACK stack or similar frameworks
Preferred Qualifications
PhD in relevant field strongly preferred
Experience with Jenkins or CI systems is a plus
Experience with several programming languages is a plus
