Role: DevOps Engineer
Location: Chicago, IL
Duration: 6+ months
Required Technical Skill Set: Azure,Powershell,VSTS,Git
Desired Experience Range: 4 - 6 Years
Must-Have
Experience with automation/configuration management
Experience with Cloud technologies- Azure
Ability to use a wide variety of open source technologies and cloud services
Knowledge of best practices and IT operations in an always-up, always-available service
Scripting/Languages:Microsoft PowerShell, JSON, XML
Strong critical thinker with problem solving aptitude
Expertise with containerization technologies like Docker
Implementation of Lean and Agile practices
Knowledge on Automation tools like VSTS,SonarQube,NUnit,MS Test,Checkmarx ,Selenium
Work within a team of like-minded professionals to plan, deploy, and maintain critical business applications
A working understanding of code and script (C# ,Powershell etc)
Strong written & oral communication skills
Excellent analytical & problem-solving skills
Responsibility of / Expectations from the Role
1 Design and implement appropriate environments for those applications, engineer suitable release management procedures and provide production support
2 Influence other teams and broader Engineering groups in adopting DevOps best practices
3 Design and develop automation workflows, performing unit tests and conducting review to make sure your work is rigorously designed, elegantly coded, and effectively tuned for platform performance, and assess the overall quality of delivered components
4 Troubleshoot problems, involving the appropriate resources and driving resolution of issues with a focus on minimizing impact to our customers
5 Drive improvements to processes and design enhancements to automation to continuously improve the production environment
