DevOPS Engineer with Docker

SAN JOSE, CA

3-6 months CTH

Overview

As part of the Vehicle Cloud Engineering team, we are looking for
experienced software engineers to develop and support workflow tooling and
microservice APIs. You will work with the platform team, engineering team,
and data scientists to identify and then develop services for enabling
workflow improvements and automating our platform. Your work will be
tightly integrated with all other teams at NIO and offers unique
opportunity to make significant impact to the platform that enables
development and deployment of NIO cars.

Responsibilities

The creation and management of tooling and microservices for CI / CD
workflows
Writing custom plugins, services and drivers, this includes but is not
limited to: Jenkins, AWS Lambda, Docker, Terraform.
Willingness and ability to learn new platforms and frameworks as
necessary to abstract them into our workflow
Provide technical leadership on tooling and services
Maintain deployment pipeline for all your services and associated code
Demonstrate good design and practices around deploying scalable and
resilient services in hybrid cloud environments
Work with geographically dispersed teams providing technical leadership.
Monitor and support your code components to rectify failures and
performance bottlenecks.
Work with our security teams to implement appropriate security measures.
Some travel may be required
Open knowledge sharing with other team members and willingness to mentor

Qualifications

At least 3 years as a software engineer
At least 3 years of experience with Python
Expert level experience in Linux, Unix, Varnish & Nginx
Hands-on software engineer with a passion for writing single
responsibility, scalable micro services
Experience developing against relational databases or non-relational
databases
Experience developing against message queues
Solid and defensible opinions about code structure, object oriented
design, and programming paradigms.
Demonstrated ability to work in ollaborative, data-driven, start-up
environment.
Ability to drive decisions based on data and not assumptions.
Bachelor s degree or demonstrated equivalent experience.
Team player with an innovative mindset to think outside the box
Flexibility to adjust to changes in priorities and ability to deliver
within constraints

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with virtual machine and container technologies like: Docker,
Kubernetes, VMWare
Groovy experience
Java experience
Ability to act as a technical lead and make data driven recommendations
to management
