Job Title : Dev Ops Cloud Engineer

Duration : 6 month+ renewable contract

Job Description:

This individual will be working with a team responsible for implementing and supporting applications which comprise fidelity.com. The position will provide technical support and expert knowledge within a variety of technologies including (but not limited to) Websphere, Tomcat, Solaris, Linux, Windows, Etc. With limited direction, this candidate will participate in delivering solutions to business problems by providing day to day operations support, participating in project activity, performing application configuration, and daily scheduled maintenance for Web-based problems. This individual assists in the identification and isolation of problems, works with team members, other support organizations, and customers to provide timely and accurate resolution.

Primary Responsibilities:

Strong problem solving skills. Ability to work across business and systems groups at all levels. Customer service orientation demonstrated by the ability to work with customers on key support issues.
Member of 7 by 24 rotating oncall team
Responsible for monitoring the availability of environments. Monitor system performance and error logs to insure a high level of application availability. This will include enhancing the automated monitoring applications in place.
Participating in the build out of end-to-end systems environments, documenting procedures, including application flows and dependency diagrams.
In working with our internal systems partners provide support for infrastructure changes such as Websphere/Tomcat upgrades, Solaris or Linux patches and application installs.
Escalate support issues to other groups (development, network, hardware, vendors, etc) as required. Coordinate all activities and provide updates to operations and management. This includes participating or authoring incident reports and technical communications.
Identify potential improvements to reduce the number of problems and enhance supportability.
Participate in the transition of new applications, modifications and enhancements to production support. This includes the development of call scripts, monitoring procedures, standard break/fix documentation, cross training of team members. Participate in development projects as required.

Qualifications:

Hands on technical AWS expert who has done work on various aws offerings and knows how to provision, configure, support, monitor and write code using aws apis to enable automation
Responsible for initially setting up the aws for operations (using vpc, ec2, cft, tf, open shift, cloud health, cloud watch, etc) and then work with multiple applications teams to guide them to right aws technologies for their application architectures
Energetic, positive, can do attitude, self-driven who can articulate thoughts/messages and communicate effectively. This role requires a lot of client (fidelity internal) interactions and would require representing operations point of view in multiple cross functional forums.
Familiarity with google cloud, azure and soft layer is a plus. Hands on experience with a cloud environment.
