Provides expert level technical assistance in support and preparation of desktop supported applications and hardware. Requires extensive knowledge of and experience with desktop technology including, but not limited to, desktop operating systems, desktop applications, desktop hardware, laptop systems, desktop printer support, PDAs, Black Berries, other supported wireless devices and peripherals. This Title receives escalated level support issues from helpdesk and Enterprise Support Center. Candidate should have 8 or more years of experience in Desktop Support. Familiar with a variety of the concepts, practices, and procedures. Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Independently performs a variety of tasks. May lead and direct the work of others. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.

This position will require regular team travel (usually with a State vehicle) to various correctional facilities around the State for the first few months. Travel should taper off over time. The position is part of the Electronic Medical Records (EMR) project, which involves the setup/distribution of computers, printers, scanners, etc. to all state correctional facilities. The candidate should be very strong with Citrix configuration & troubleshooting, which is the tool connecting these devices to DOC’s EMR database. Candidates who are not interested in travel or who may be intimidated with being inside of a correctional facility (prison), should not apply. Familiarity with EMR systems & terminology would be a definite plus, but it is not mandatory. Customer service/communication skills are essential
