Our client is currently working on building a new data analytics platform utilizing the Amazon Web Services platform. As with any project, the effort will involve multiple phases. An initial phase of the project will require the migration of backend data storage from an on-premise database to a cloud database. For this phase of the project, our client needs to incrementally expand their DataStage resources in order to repoint the current data flows to the new database.
The IBM DataStage consultant(s) will focus primarily on reviewing & understanding the current DataStage code that loads the current on-premise data warehouse environment and working to update that code to load the same datasets to the new database environment within AWS. The consultant will be responsible for modifying, testing, and validating DataStage jobs to accommodate for changes in database technologies, including potential differences in data types, database organization, load sequence, and performance. May also involve recoding SQL within jobs that were optimized for the on-premise database.
The consultant will be responsible for executing and documenting the system tests to validate the conversion effort. Responsibilities also include managing to an assigned queue of work within JIRA and creating documentation highlighting the updates to the DataStage jobs that were put in place as a part of the conversion.
Required:
- 7+ years of IBM DataStage Development experience (designing, coding, testing, optimizing)
- 3+ years of IBM DataStage administration and performance tuning
- 7+ years of knowledge of & experience with databases, systems, and SQL concepts
- 3+ years of experience with Netezza
- Must possess excellent interpersonal and relationship building skills
- Must possess excellent communication skills and have deep experience working with many varied user groups simultaneously
- Experience working with AWS database services (Redshift, RDS)
