Position title: Datapower Administration - Chicago - Multiple positions
Hourly rate: 50-55 per hour CTC
Location: Chicago
Duration: 6 months – 1 year
Overview
The qualified candidate will perform core support and other administration activities for IBM Products –
IBM DataPower Appliance & IBM API Connect. This candidate will be required to work well in a team
environment and be willing to share 24x7 on-call responsibilities with teammates.
Qualifications
Education
? Master’s Degree / Bachelor''s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering
or 10+ years’ equivalent experience required
Experience
? Must have overall experience of 10+ years of which at least 5-6 years of experience in IBM API
connect (APIC) and DataPower Xi52 / IDG or other appliances
? Experience in supporting services using XML Technologies (XSLT, XPath), SOAP and/or
REST-based Web services with emphasis on Security, including familiarity of SSL/TLS, Digital
Signatures, WS-Security, OAuth, SAML, OpenID
? Experience in developing deployment policies, should understand SOMA scripting, Ant/Shell
script knowledge is a plus
? Strong experience working with n-tier architectures (UI, Controller, Web Services, Business
Logic Layer and Data Access Layer)
? Experience with Installation and Administration of Datapower Xi52 / IDG or other appliances
? Expertise in monitoring, performance tuning, upgrading, maintaining and troubleshooting APIC
and DataPower
? Strong understanding and experience in various DataPower services such as Web Service
Proxy (WSP), Multi-Protocol Gateway (MPG) etc.
? Should have knowledge and hands on experience in backups, high availability, and disaster
recovery
? Good knowledge on Network concepts, Firewalls, DMZ and F5 Load balancers
? Strong interpersonal & communication skills are essential
? DataPower Development experience would be an added plus
Job Description (Roles and Responsibilities)
? Manage day-to-day core support and maintenance activities for various DataPower services
and APIC (build, installation, configuration, upgrades, testing, deployment, support, and
performance tuning & optimization) and document the procedures/instructions across multiple
environments
? Enable and manage monitoring, alerting and reporting for APIC and DataPower
? Maintain documentation for use in internal/external audits
? Ensure technological compliance with best common practices & standard operating procedures
? Identify operational bottlenecks, performance and security issues, and provide valuable input to
mitigate them
? Participate in root cause analysis efforts to help identify the solutions and determine next steps
to address the issues
? Ensure quality, security and compliance requirements are met for supported area
? Engage vendor support as needed and follow-through until the issue closure
? Provide periodic and regular updates to the management and peer groups on the progress
? Availability for on-call support in a 24/7 environment
