Skills
5+ years of Datacom experience on Mainframe z/OS environment
Good system performance tuning and troubleshooting skills
Knowledge of SQL coding and tuning
Must be hands-on, technically adept DBA, capable of performing
required DB tasks in a fast-paced environment
Assists in defining, prioritizing and driving tasks/projects
required to maintain an available and resilient database environment
Knowledge in Datacom and IDEAL and their latest versions and
features, Dataquery, MSQuery and Datacom SQL Server. Must be able to
interface and speak intelligently with z/OS system experts in both
administration and performance discussions
Ability to diagnose problems and triage / resolve issues
quickly across various tiers (application, network, database, server or
storage tiers)
Ability to implement automation to reduce manual
administrative tasks through use of jobs, scripts or other techniques
Ability to evaluate and recommend new database technologies
and assist in the coordination of new releases and upgrades
Experience in the use of tools such as ChangeMan, ServiceNow
and native tools
Responsibilities
Making the changes to the database tables as needed for all
regions
Will update database for security patches and version updates
as needed
Soft Skills
Able to communicate efficiently and effectively to technical
and non-technical audiences
Anticipate and handle critical situations on a 24x7 basis with
little or no direction
Ability to thrive in a fast, flexible, cooperative work
environment
Good presentation skills with the ability to present
effectively to people at the same of higher level in the organization
Ability to communicate clearly with our CA support team and
Client''s Technical staff to determine the most efficient approach to issues
and changes that arise.
