Job Description:

The purpose of this position is to be a technical leader, responsible for adhering to and enforcing database standards and methodologies, thoroughness, accuracy, and solving complex problems related to the delivery of solutions that improve business capability and efficiency.
ESSENTIAL JOB TASKS (This is not an all-inclusive list of all job duties that may be required; employees will be required to perform other related duties as assigned.
List in order of importance)
Innovate, design, develop and test Transact SQL queries and stored procedures, follow best practices and standards for a team environment
Develop SSIS packages of high complexity and scope while adhering to documented development standards
Solid experience building data analysis solutions (data warehouse, data mart, ETL, Reports)
Work closely with data feed team in identifying data integration needs
Provide technical expertise and insight to ensure successful completion of complex projects
Work closely in conjunction with and under the direction of the Data Architect
Responsible for design of tables and views, providing time estimates, and required documentation
Follow industry practices of analysis, design, development, testing, deployment and maintenance/production support of custom databases and applications
Work independently to develop solutions for complex business and technical problems
Interact effectively and professionally in a team setting with co-workers consisting of other programmers, database administrators and business analysts
Coordinate with other team members to brainstorm and create new processes for data integration and data quality remediation to use in day-to-day operations
Support deployment and maintenance of clean data into production environment
Learn and understand business practices and processes to the extent needed to improve business problem-solving capabilities
Coordinate with other team members to assist on a variety of other development needs and practices
Develop SSRS reports
Complete special projects and other duties as assigned
Skills Required:
Knowledge, skills, and abilities: In-depth knowledge of the complete software development lifecycle using different methodologies and frameworks (e.g. Agile, Waterfall, and SCRUM
Strong experience with database diagramming concepts, theory and practices. Ability to convert software requirements and functional specifications into complete working solutions.
Ability to develop analysis reports and queries from structured and unstructured sources. Ability to conduct data-driven experiments, to interpret data, and to create innovative data-based products and services.
Ability to prioritize and problem-solve complex enterprise applications. Must have strong planning, organizational and analytical skills.
Ability to lead database application development projects while communicating well both verbally and in writing.
Preferred training, certifications and/or other special requirements:
Experience with developing database applications end-to-end.
Experience with using SSIS to perform integration and workflows
Experience obtaining and transforming raw data into meaningful and useful information for business analysis purposes
Experience with developing and implementing normalized databases in a relational design. Preferred education and/or experience
Experience with C# and current .NET Frameworks
Experience with N-tiered architecture
Experience with Microsoft Entity Framework
Experience with Unit testing experience
Experience with Visual Studio 2013/2015, TFS 2013/2015 and SharePoint
Experience with SQL Server 2008-2016
Experience with SQL Server Analysis Services (SSAS)
Experience Required:
Minimum education and/or experience: Bachelor Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or a related field and five (5) years software development experience in a relational database environment.
A combination of education and work experience may be substituted on a year for year basis. Specialized training, certifications, and/or other special requirements
Experience using MS SQL Server, T-SQL, Business Intelligence, SQL Integration Studio and SQL Reporting Services Working conditions
Must be able to work in a normal, indoor office environment; must have manual dexterity of hands and body to operate office equipment; must be able to manage frequent interruptions, time pressures, high work volumes, multiple and complicated tasks, unscheduled tasks, team-oriented activities, prompt decision-making and interaction with government officials; must constantly maintain concentration, accuracy, ethical behavior and a professional demeanor.
