Job Description:
We are seeking a seasoned Database Engineer who will be responsible for the development and deployment strategy of changes at the database layer for the MediaCloud team. The person should be comfortable working in an Agile/SCRUM environment and possess strong communication skills. We are looking for people who are problem solvers, eager to investigate and resolve complex issues, and propose simple but elegant solutions over complex changes.
Responsibilities:
You will design and review data models, database schemas, and SQL/queries, both relational and non-relational
Tune query plans performance to ensure our servers and applications are highly responsive
Proactively identify and fix DB related performance bottlenecks
Develop and test database enhancements for improving performance, scalability, reliability
Coordinate and respond to scope changes, ensuring proper communication and approvals are obtained from affected personnel and business units.
Knowledgeable with database replication and scalability issues.
Requirements
Strong understanding of SQL concepts and applications.
Experience with Oracle is a must.
BS or MS in Computer Science or related field.
Experience troubleshooting and optimizing database issues and performance problems.
Experience with highly available database architecture.
Experience with packaging techniques for DDL, DML, and other database scripts for deployment.
Added Consideration
Experience with PostgreSQL, MSSQL, and no-SQL database technologies in a hybrid environment.
Experience with Object Oriented Java or .NET development.
