Role : Database Administrator
Duration : 13+ months
Location : Phoenix,AZ | Tempe | Tempe, AZ
Role & Responsibilities :
Execute traditional DBE operational responsibilities to proactively guarantee availability and performance •
Design, architect, implement and scale SQL Server, MySQL and Mongo databases in virtual and physical environments, both on-prem and in private/public cloud •
Migrate DBs across platforms, for example from MSSQL to MySQL, from relational to NoSQL •
Strive to find opportunities to introduce or improve automation, monitoring and process •
Collaborate with engineering and systems teams on service delivery and support •
Partner with manufacturing, finance, marketing and data sciences to realize and support their database requirements •
Take ownership of projects and systems as needed • Identify, evaluate and champion other RDBMS, NoSQL and database-related technologies •
Build relationships with various stakeholders, partners and third parties •
Produce and maintain outstanding documentation • Participate in an on-call rotation with other DBAs •
Several years experience supporting high volume SQL Server and MySQL databases in a large scale consumer internet environment •
At least one year working with NoSQL databases such as MongoDB, AWS DynamoDB or Cassandra. •
Deep knowledge of MySQL and SQL Server internals, debugging and query optimization •
Strong experience migrating database across platforms such as MSSQL to MySQL •
Demonstrable expertise in database design and architecture, capacity and scalability planning •
Strong systems administration knowledge and scripting skills • Experience with Virtualization, DBaaS, and hybrid cloud environments •
The desire and ability to articulate complex issues in written and interactive formats
