Job Description :
The Database Administrator position will be responsible for quality assurance and cleanup of data in the department’s current system (MS SQL 2013) in preparation of migration to a new system (MS SQL 2016
The position will also assist in the mapping of data from the current system to a new system and provide insight to the development of the department’s new system.
May also assist in the further development of Maximo modules.
Essential Job Tasks:

Write SQL queries to perform ETL processes that retrieve from relational source systems.
Confers with programmer/analyst and customer staff to define functional requirements, perform data modeling and implement final products; resolves errors and interface problems and ensures integrated systems in accordance with development standards.
Plans, prepares, defines, structures, develops, implements and maintains database systems.
Plans and develops test data to validate new or modified database applications; monitors system performance by the use of appropriate utilities, online capabilities and batch reports.
Tests, troubleshoots, refines and documents systems; applies quality assurance and security standards to ensure against the loss of data and a minimal interruption of usage in the event of equipment failure.
Writes program documentation and user procedures and instructions.
Tracks and evaluates project and systems progress.
Confers with internal customers regarding assigned functional program areas
Maintains current knowledge of technology and database applications and systems.
Responsible for SQL jobs and maintenance plans to include backups, restorations etc. as needed.
Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related duties as needed.
Technical oversight providing overall guidance, leadership, and solid execution of data architectures and data analysis related to project initiatives.
Manage data integrity, security, availability, recoverability, performance, and to facilitate or influence change to improve.
Use ad-hoc queries to investigate data issues in relational source systems.
Maintains quality service by establishing and enforcing organizational standards.
