The Database Administrator performs complex data analysis, data modeling and data administration work. Work involves developing, maintaining, and monitoring integrated database systems. May provide guidance to others. Works under general supervision, with moderate latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.

o Supports the installation of database software and migrations to new data management system software levels, and tests the migrations to ensure data reliability and functionality. Analyzes, designs, modifies, and maintains database structures.
o Designs and implements procedures necessary to save, retrieve, and recover databases from hardware and software failures. Establishes and implements database security controls and user access levels.
o Evaluates and recommends database software packages for potential acquisition. Prepares and develops database documentation, procedures, and definitions for data dictionaries.
o Performs logical and physical data modeling, designs relational database models, and creates physical data models from logical data models.
o Performs database performance monitoring and implements efficiency improvements. Assists in modifying existing databases and database management systems.
o Assists in developing standards, guidelines, policies, and procedures designed to ensure the integrity of the database environment.
o Performs data analysis using SQL queries
o Assists In selection of data management tools and develops standards, usage guidelines and procedures for
o those tools.
o Performs related work as assigned.

Minimum Requirements:
Years Skills/Experience
4 Database administration in Oracle 12c, SQL Server 2014 and above
3 Exadata
3 Experience with techniques to create, manipulate, and customize DDL scripts for multiple platforms
2 Logical and Physical data modeling
Preferences:
Years Skills/Experience
3 Unix / Linux
2 Experience using ERStudio, Erwin or related data modeling software
2 Shell script development / maintenance
1 DB2 database
1 Exposure to TSDS/PEIMS systems architecture
