Database Admin with Vertica

??Database Administrator Responsibilities:

* Work closely and support Sr. DBAs to run our multi-cluster MySQL and Vertica database systems (including development, testing, and production environments)

* Support software development with database operations including DDL and DML changes, query optimization, storage optimization, and overall database design guidance and integration for Vertica and MySQL databases, used by different 24/7 systems

* Perform database administration tasks including maintenance, upgrades, user management, monitoring, performance tuning, and data purging

* Work with various teams to control and execute day-to-day database operations

* Develop strategies and implement solutions for database continuous testing, integration and delivery

REQUIREMENTS:
* Bachelor degree or equivalent work experience required

* Must have good understanding and at least 3+ years hands-on experience with Vertica

* Familiarity and hands-on experience with MySQL database

* Experience with database clustering, performance tuning, monitoring, upgrades, and data replication

* Good knowledge of data backup, data purging, recovery, and SQL

* Experience with applications database support and SQL optimization

* Innovative approach to work, constantly looking for upgrading the system to more efficient and effective new technologies and processes

* Experience or interest in database automated continuous testing, integration, and delivery

* Experience working in a Linux environment
