DataPower Position Description

Primary Function:

The individual will work various teams across the organization to migrate existing DataPower services to solutions that align to Client's strategic design patterns, security standards, and technology selections. The individual will also work with SMEs to help formulate design patterns and reference implementations, which will includes determining design, technology selections, PoCs, testing, documenting, etc.

Typical work will involve managing deliveries, setting priorities, working with less than complete requirements, critical thinking, assisting project teams, and adapting to changing requirements, project timelines, and priorities.

Responsibilities:

A successful candidate will work with individuals from various roles such as architects, developers, system analysts and business partners to design, develop and deliver solutions that migrate services from DataPower, using CA API Gateway (Layer 7) and associated technologies used in Client's integrated solutions. The right candidate will be a creative, self-motivated individual with drive and excellent interpersonal skills and will be proactively looking for ways to address problems and insure that solutions conform to specified standards.

They will primarily be responsible for designing and developing integration solutions in targeted technologies, troubleshooting issues, performing code and design reviews, assisting other developers, following best practices and helping deliver manageable and cost effective integration solutions.

They will work with teams to fix code level defects, document designs, review deployment processes, and create other project or architecture artifacts. The candidate will be expected to provide production support if and when needed.

The candidate will provide consultation to all interfacing partners such as business partners and support units at the highest technical level on all phases of integration. They will research and evaluate alternative solutions and recommend the most efficient and cost effective application programming and integration solutions. They will perform development work on new or modified services, reuse existing code and integrate solutions. They will document, test, implement and provide on-going support for developed solutions.

Important skills/experience:

2+ years working with DataPower.

2+ years working with CA API Gateway (Layer 7

2+ years working with REST, XML, XSLT, SOAP, WSDL.

5+ years working in an IT organization in a development capacity.

Able to interact with teams across the organization to understand business needs and provide solutions based on
identified, but often abstract requirements.

Able to clearly identify root causes of defects and testing issues and make practical suggestions.

Has excellent problem solving and analytical skills.

Able to create component based designs and experience with developing and using enterprise integration patterns.

Able to resolve technical support cases, research reported problems and document solutions.

Can help troubleshoot system, application, and network configurations.

Has excellent written/oral communication and collaboration skills.

Has worked with various SOA design patterns, standards, REST and SOAP architectural styles.

Has a deep understanding of security concepts such as (authentication, authorization, encryption methods, digital
signatures, etc, PKI concepts and SSL.

Has experience creating and maintaining specifications.

Has experience implementing solutions with various design patterns and technologies.

Nice to have:

Mainframe and access methods – CICS, COBOL, etc.

Middleware/integration technologies – MQ, MessageBroker/IIB, ETL/DataStage, Fuse, etc.

Software languages/frameworks/management - Java, J2EE, OSGI, Maven, Spring Boot, Camel, CXF, etc.

Databases – Oracle, SQL Server, DB2.

Big data – Hadoop, HBase, etc.

Cloud – OpenShift, Kubernetes, Docker, etc.


Version control - GIT, SVN, etc.

IDEs – Eclipse, IntelliJ, etc.

Experience working in either a matrixed organization or independently.

Works well under pressure, handling projects that have real-time high dependency and challenging business
deadlines.

Has excellent written and oral communications skills required to determine, document and present research findings,
technical papers and training material (including design documents, specifications, architectural artifacts and diagrams,

presentations
