Position: Data Engineer – Customer Data Platform

SUMMARY: The Data Engineer will work with other Data architects, Data engineers, Database Administrators, data analysts and business analysts to implement ETL solutions with various types of challenging data. Candidates must have an advanced knowledge of SQL Server, SSIS Catalog, SSIS, T-SQL, and some data modeling experience. Candidates must have strong communication skills that allow you to regularly deal with the business, as well as with specialists from related fields, including database developers, and software engineers. Candidates must have outstanding analytical and problem solving skills and a good grasp of the technical side of business intelligence and always keep up to date with the latest BI tools and technologies. Moreover the data engineer will help to evolve our technology by developing tools and processes that supplement and enhance our current data technology offerings. As a member of our dynamic team of Data Engineers, Business Intelligence Engineers, business analysts and Product Managers, you will leverage your passion for building to help drive the next generation of customer data capabilities and data analysis for the eCommerce and Marketing teams.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Design, build and deploy effective SSIS Packages.
Implementing store procedures and querying database(s)
Contribute to the solutions architecture process for platform integrations and data design
Leverage 3rd system APIs (Salesforce Marketing Cloud, Twilio, Krux/DMP, Ad servers, other marketing vendors) for marketing technical solutions
Develop new source and target quality processes to audit and confirm data quality.
Design and Develop new data models and other data repositories within Customer Data Platform supporting both structure and unstructured data.
Write/validate complex SQL queries and Data management packages
Provide tier two investigation for data anomalies, including deep-dives into code, databases, and business logic to answer advanced user questions
Create automated unit tests and data validation scripts.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
A desire to work in a collaborative, intellectually curious environment.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field.
2+ Years of Data Warehouse Experience with SQL Server, Redshift, PostgreSQL, etc.
Demonstrated strength in SQL, data modeling, ETL development, and data warehousing.
Experience in maintaining data warehouse systems and working on large scale data transformation using Hadoop, Hive, or other Big Data technologies.
Track record of using Agile or Scrum development processes to develop software
Strong problem-solving skills, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis
Great problem solver, ability to learn independently, and work in an ambiguous environment
Ability to manage multiple projects at the same time, in a fast-paced team environment, across time zones and with different cultures and a great team player
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Industry experience as a Data Engineer or related specialty (e.g., Software Engineer, Business Intelligence Engineer, Data Scientist) with a track record of manipulating, processing, and extracting value from large datasets.
5+ Years of experience building/operating highly available, distributed systems of data extraction, ingestion, and processing of large data sets
Experience building data products incrementally and integrating and managing datasets from multiple sources
Experience with large-scale data warehousing and analytics projects, including use of Microsoft technologies – SQL Server, SSIS, T-SQL.
Experience with Microsoft Azure and Microsoft SQL DW
Experience with RedPoint Global Technologies. Notably, RedPoint Data Management (RPDM)
Experience with Big Data Technologies (Hadoop, Hive, Hbase, Pig, Spark, etc
Experience with structured and unstructured data sources.
