Our client, with missions in University teaching, research and public service and half-million annual enrollments, seeks an accomplished Data Warehouse System Analyst.

Description:
Client is sponsoring development of a data repository solution serving the information and reporting needs.
In this highly complex technical and organizational environment, the system analyst position will provide consultation and support in the analysis and interpretation of source systems, development of functional and technical specifications, and design and execution of system testing.
The system uses Hadoop technologies, and a star schema data warehouse structure to deliver reporting requirements to the end user.
The system analyst will work with the business subject matter experts to identity reporting requirements, and translate these to specifications.
Work with business subject matter experts and bridge communication between the business and technical teams.
Write functional requirements, report specifications and technical design documents.
Collaborate with the development and reporting teams on the creation and testing of the business reports.
Collaborate with data architect and data team to document functional requirements describing the data load workflow process.
Must understand the entire end to end data process flow and work with the data analyst and data architect to understand content, structure and quality of the data.
Understand data model and mapping specifications in order to create QA test plans. Validate data for accuracy using SQL and other data validation tools.
Develop and execute system test plans. Ensure that any issues raised during testing are addressed prior to migration into production.
Participate in and support functional unit testing, integration testing, system testing and user acceptance testing activities, including authoring test plans, scripts, and data validation and certification processes.

Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree in Mathematics, Economics, Computer Science, Information Management, Information Systems, Statistics or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
The ideal candidate will have experience with Report Environment and data warehouse concepts.
The candidate must have experience with report testing, system test development, test execution, and data verification using SQL.
Minimum seven years of experience with data related projects with at least five years performing system analysis and testing on large, complex data warehousing and business intelligence systems.
Experience with RDBMS and data warehousing concepts including: star schema, change data capture (CDC), and ETL.
Ability to interpret data modeling/data workflow diagrams (conceptual, logical and physical
Experience gathering reporting requirements from end users and translating to specifications. Experience writing functional and technical specification documents.
Technical skills to collaborate and communicate with the data architect, data analyst, and ETL and reporting team.
High proficiency with SQL (extensive experience querying large, complex data sets), XML, MS Excel (pivoting capabilities, analysis modules), MS Word.
Experience writing system test plans. Extensive experience in test execution and quality assurance (QA

Preferred:
Knowledge of operational healthcare hospital/clinical workflows, health care trends, policies, and regulations such as HIPAA.
Experience with medical incident data and reporting (RL Solutions), and in the installation of health care information systems.
Experience with business intelligence reporting environments like Cognos, Tableau.
Familiarity with Big Data concepts and Hadoop eco system (HDFS, Impala, Hive
