Role:
IQ is the Clients enterprise data warehouse team, maintaining data warehouse infrastructure and processes in support of reporting, analytics and other institutional data needs for the client. IQ is seeking an experienced data warehouse developer to create new ETL (Extract, transform, Load) processes and improve existing ones, chiefly related to dimensional data models and related data pipelines, primarily involving human resources data.
Responsibilities:
Client requires the services of one Senior ETL Analyst who meets the general qualifications of Data Warehouse Architect
The candidate shall work with IQ's ETL, BI (Business Intelligence) and infrastructure teams to load dimensional, Online Analytical Processing (OLAP) models being developed in support of institutional reporting needs. The project will be using the Ralph Kimball approach to data warehouse development and the models will support current and projected reporting and data requirements
The candidate will design, implement and maintain robust and efficient ETL processes and supporting infrastructure with various ETL tools and software including IBM Information Server DataStage v11.5 and PL/SQL.The candidate will help to establish best practices and standard procedures as well as create documentation and share knowledge with current staff.
Organizationally, the candidate will be part of the Information Quest team. The data warehouse development manager will supervise this position, approve time and authorize payments.
Required Skills
5 years of experience in systems design, analysis and programming.
5 years of experience developing and implementing efficient, maintainable, standardized and accurate ETL processes using IBM DataStage versions 8.7 or above for the migration of data between OLTP, staging and OLAP environments within an architecture that supports the Ralph Kimball approach to data warehouse development.
5 years of experience developing or supporting star and snowflake database architectures.
5 years of experience with a broad knowledge of software development and operating system principles.
2 years of experience with data warehousing and business intelligence (BI) reporting tools.
2 years of experience with large-scale, enterprise-level ETL implementations.
2 years of experience defining and enforcing standards and procedures for the data warehouse ETL processes.
2 years of experience preparing documentation including functional and technical specifications, system documents and diagrams, testing documents, standard operating procedures and sharing this knowledge with the team.
Strong knowledge of Data Warehousing concepts
Proficiency in the use of standard ETL techniques and their application within DataStage.
Strong experience with unit and performance testing and process tuning to ensure efficiency and completion within available processing window.
Familiarity with standard logging and monitoring techniques; ability to assist with development and implementation of robust processes to ensure restartability, rerunnability and prompt error resolution.
Demonstrated ability to learn and apply new technologies with ability to offer innovative solutions and adapt to changing technology.
Strong analytical and problem solving skills with ability to clearly articulate solution alternatives.
Strong ability to work collaboratively as part of a team to design robust and maintainable solutions and document technical implementations.

7 years of experience developing or supporting star and snowflake database architectures.
4 years of experience with relational databases (e.g. Oracle, SQL Server) and Oracle SQL.

4 years proficiency with bash/shell scripting.
2 years of experience with Agile, rapid data warehouse development methodology.
Proficiency with enterprise automation tools such as Control M or Stonebranch UAC.
2 years of experience working in higher education.
Strong facility in analyzing, profiling, modeling, validating and documenting data, definitions, values, and relationships.
