Title: Data Warehouse Developer
The Commonwealth of MA is currently seeking exceptional individual to join the Data Warehouse team. We are seeking self-starters who are highly motivated, efficient, professional, communicative and able to contribute to the team on day one. DW Developers perform analysis, design, code and testing of moderate to extremely complex data extraction routines and report development. DW Developers support the Medicaid data warehouse systems in a multi assignment environment and complete work in queue by aggressive due dates. DW Developers need to have a range of expert technical skills, based on keen knowledge of DW and must be highly proficient in Oracle SQL. The expectation is that this role can identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities.
Duties:
· Document code and processes for distribution to all interested parties
· Understand and translate business requirements into DW solutions
· Create data models and designs to meet specific business needs that require sourcing data from multiple source systems
· Document design using industry standard artifacts for documenting DW designs
· Code Oracle ETL scripts that will extract data from an operational database and populate the staging and target data warehouse schemas
· Provide query writing support and tuning expertise to analysts and end users
· Develop shell scrips for production job automation
· Work in 24X7 environment which requires on-call rotation
Qualifications:
· 3+ years’ experience in database development, including analyzing, designing, documenting, coding, testing and implementing SQL/PL code
· Thorough knowledge of data warehouse principles and techniques, specifically dimensional data modeling
· Exceptional Oracle SQL skills and PL/SQL skills
· Hands on experience with set based operations, analytic functions and query hints
· Strong command of DW modeling concepts
· Excellent problem solving and analytical skills
· Proficiency with LINUX and shell scripting
· Experience in PERL, system administration, database administration, storage architecture, backup, recovery and networking
· Technophile with command of command line
Skills:
· BS in Computer Science or equivalent experience
· Medicaid or large healthcare claims processing experience
· Informatica ETL experience
· Cognos 10.3 reporting experience
