Skills, Experience, and Requirements
Proficiency in analytics-related computer languages
o SQL
o R or Python(scale of 8/10)
o AWS, Java, or another general purpose language
Degree or comparable experience in a quantitative field such as mathematics/statistics. Masters or PhD preferred
Experience building analytical/predictive models, preferably in a business context (marketing, operations, finance, etc)
Ability to research independently and improve existing and future models based on latest findings in machine learning and statistics
Working knowledge of the Telecommunications Industry strongly preferred
Job Duties and Responsibilities
The Viewer Measurement Analytics team is responsible for provided analytical support to business units throughout the organization. Team members must be able to understand potentially complex business problems and design and implement analytics solutions to help solve them. Day to day tasks will include:
Construct predicative models in support of various Dish departments including Programming, Media Sales, and Dish Network Services
Query databases for reporting and analysis
Work with the business to identify areas where analytics could add value
Conduct independent research in analytics related disciplines (machine learning, statistics, etc to ensure that Dish remains on the forefront of industrial data science
