Description:
We are looking for a Data Ops Engineer to join a team of analytical solution builders who are currently in the process of developing a critical data science/ intelligence platform for delivering timely insights in a variety of ways to internal users. This is a great opportunity to be in a team working on novel initiatives within a data-driven marketing department to increase its capabilities and to provide internal users with better decision support. Your work will help marketers and executives greatly increase their ability to prioritize their work and be effective at the same time.
Your primary focus will be the development and enhancement of infrastructure for automating the intelligence platform and enhancing its reach and efficiency. This would include continuously deploying and maintaining analytics code in the cloud, automation of database connections with the analytics code, maintaining staging databases for application use, ensuring analytics code base works seamlessly with front-end systems, improving performance of the analytics platforms and finally improving robustness.
Responsibilities:
Improve and maintain existing application and database IT infrastructures to maximize reliability
Design and implement CI/CD processes to deploy code in production and development environments for both a backend data processing layer and frontend web application.
Implement automation processes to deploy and test codebases
Work with backend data analytics developers to ensure their code is written for best deployment practices.
Work with frontend developers to ensure their code is written for best deployment practices.
Research and explore opportunities to continually improve existing architecture and infrastructure capabilities.
Impart best practices to improve the knowledge of code contributors.
Skills:
Minimum of 3 years experience maintaining production level application infrastructures
Experience with the management of databases and basic querying
SQL (MySQL/PostgreSQL)
NoSQL (MongoDB)
Experience with CI/CD processes and implementation
Experience deploying containerized applications with Kubernetes
Preferably within OpenShift V3
Familiarity with front-end development.
Familiarity with HTML5/ CSS3/ Javascript
Experience working in a highly collaborative team environment.
Excellent communication skills.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Math, Statistics or equivalent.
