Role: Data Modeler

Scope of work:
A new position, to join a team of 4 data modelers to help with the dash boarding, reporting, and scorecard technologies at clients place.
This team has three major score carding initiatives, with 60-70 metrics (that are two levels deep) per initiative.
This team is responsible for various dashboards that service many parts of the business. So in this role you need excellent communication and requirements gathering skills as you will work with the business to understand their business rules, in order to build the reporting and dashboards to their needs.
Strong SQL skills are needed, as there is quite a bit of data modeling work that is done.
The data modeling with be done at the DW level (using Teradata) and the Star Schema (data mart layer) environments.
You will work with users to get the physical DB design. Also you will performance tune, model using the Erwin tool, and create tables for the DBAs to build out the design.
There will be some data testing and validation, and you will run SQL to profile data before sending it out for design.

Requirements:
Strong Data Relational & Dimensional modeling (5+ years) with Teradata
Experience in using data modeling techniques and tools (focused on Dimensional design), Entity Relationship diagrams, erwin, etc.
Strong business analyst and requirements gathering/writing skills
Exceptional SQL skills with ability to write complex queries
Experience in translating business requirements to SQL-based ETL
Proficient testing skills – unit, system and integration
Excellent verbal/written communication and presentation skills

Preferred:
Experience using Erwin Data Modeler
