Assignment (Project) Name: Data Integration Specialist

Total Estimated Assignment Hours: 3 Months with possible extension
This position will manage developers, providing day-to-day supervision of all technical resources and reporting to the Project Manager. In accordance with DoITT Project Management Office policies and the standards published by the Project Management Institute, the Data Integration Lead will be responsible for:
Managing data integration developers.
Leading the development of all integration components to meet business requirements and in accordance with industry best practices, DoITT standards, and Citywide security policies.
Leading the development, coding and testing documenting of software modifications using WebSphere Message Broker, WebSphere DataPower, IWay and other integration technologies.
Leading the design, creation and updating of the standardized NIEM based XML data models for data exchanges ensuring reusability while enabling consolidation of data models.
Conducting Unit Tests, supporting Quality Assurance, and coordination of defect remediation.
Participating in the development of system design.
Providing technical expertise, estimates, and recommendations to project management.
Participating in requirements discussions and meetings as necessary.
Ensuring that technical team deadlines are met and target dates are re-baselined as necessary.
Communicate risks and issues to project management.
Documenting technical risks and issues, and actively working to avoid/mitigate/resolve extent risks.
Application source code and configuration.
Automated Unit test suite demonstrating that delivered source code meets functional and non-functional requirements, where applicable.
Assist in creating documentation such as but not limited to: Technical Design and Security Accreditation.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
Management skills, since the person will manage 8 developers. It really requires a mature, experienced individual who can handle conflicts and negotiate.
