Position: Data Governance Architect
Location: Chicago, IL
Duration: 6 months Contract

Job Details:

Summary:
Must have a holistic perspective on the entire data governance process from both a business and technical perspective. Act as a liaison and translation layer between business and technical teams and operates at system- and detailed technical level for analysis purposes. Work on new project requirements from initial requirements through full development life cycle and implementation.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each primary duty satisfactorily.

Plan and implement the data governance framework for OCC, finalize iterative processes for cataloging and boarding OCC data, providing advice and support to VP of DG.
Assist in setting up the Governance Council, and enable the VP of DG to lead the agenda, priorities, measurement criteria in 2019
Develop DG policies, procedures, and implement within ISEE toolset (IGC, IA, DQEC, BPM, DS, IGD, DG Monitor, etc); identify current and future state and plan to close the gap for implementation of policies
Develop policy and procedures for DG inclusion in PMO gatekeeping processes
Enable VP of DG to effectively evangelize and facilitate adoption of DG policies, processes, and tool implementation; create presentation and other collateral, feedback to VP on presentations, etc.
Interview candidates for permanent roles in the office of DG; Direct and train selected candidates as necessary
Continue identification of OCC data domains and respective critical data elements, lead multidisciplinary working groups to drive consensus on data domains and cde’s, identify data producers and consumers in context of data domains and collect business requirements to develop business and data quality rules in ISEE over cde’s for AWS cloud deployment of ISEE 11. 7;
Develop business glossary structure in alignment with OCC business capabilities, data domains, cde’s
Develop runbooks (playbooks)
Continue implementation of data quality rules over Comprehensive Stress Testing (CST) line of business deploying into production environment; inclusive of business glossary
Consolidate CST initiative with data domain work
Develop plan for DG over replacement of Encore (core application for clearing, settlement, acct mngmt at OCC), which will be a messaging based system;
Develop data lineage strategy incorporating java code beyond utilization of extension mapping documents
Very strong communication skills, negotiating skills, interpersonal skills and development
Hands on experience with ISEE suite is critical; datastage job development is an asset
Very strong vision and planning for DG implementation
Ability to work under pressure and time constraints, adapt quickly to changes
Ability to lead meetings, communicate with management, business and technical stakeholders and facilitate buy-in

Able to train others in the correct usage of the IBM Information Server tools to grow the data governance program
Strong written and oral communication, prioritization, organizational, analytical and time management skills

Technical Skills:
Experience with Microsoft Office desktop tools (Word, Excel, etc
Multiple year experience with IBM Information Server Suite 11. x
Database experience a plus (i. e. Oracle, SQL Server, DB2

Education and/or Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related discipline.
At least four to six years of experience in data governance or data quality analysis.
