This is a facilities engineer role, ideally with previous experience working in a data center. Need someone that has worked with as much of the following as possible: - electrical and mechanical systems - mechanical electrical plumbing systems (MEPS) - building monitoring/automation systems - uninterruptible power supplies/backup generators - HVAC systems - security (specifically badge access security systems) - fire protection (and ideally with preventative maintenance experience in this area) - bio-metric low-voltage card readers - ability to design and write SOP/MOP/ERP

Data Center Critical Facilities Engineer
We are looking for a Data Center Critical Facilities Engineer for our MIS Group in our Dallas, TX location.
Responsible to assist with the coordination and integration aspects of electrical and mechanical systems, operations, and maintenance for critical and non-critical electrical & mechanical systems alike. Candidate should have experience in electrical, mechanical and possess knowledge of large scale data centers (or similar environments

Operational Responsibilities:

Provide technical support to all aspects of data center operations including the operation, maintenance and repair of all mission critical equipment and systems supporting a 24x7 data center operation to achieve 100% uptime and 100% compliance with all customer SLAs.

Assist in all site construction activity and installations, in coordination with QTS Development Team, external construction resources, to ensure system design, installation and testing adhere to operational standards. Witness testing of all equipment during commissioning and validate sequence of operations and receipt of all operational documentation.

Supports for all local customer installations, in coordination with Sales Engineering, Design & Construction and Colocation Operations to coordinate customer move-ins and turn-ups, including deployments and power circuit installations.
Supports implementation and audit local standard operating procedures in conjunction with our Corporate Audit teams.

Support various accreditation, certification and compliance initiatives as may be required.
Maintain compliance with local health & safety (i.e. OSHA) standards and national electrical and building codes.
Ensure adherence to all standard operating procedures (SOP), method of procedures (MOP), and emergency response procedures (ERP) established for the critical environments, as well as the formal change control process.
Participates in the scheduling, coordination and completion all significant planned and emergency maintenance events for the facility and ensure these activities are executed in a controlled and proven method to ensure the reliability of the critical loads supported by these systems.

Data Center Critical Facilities Engineer Skills

Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or similar HVAC or critical power certifications OR equivalent experience in lieu of degree.
Five or more years of direct experience in a technical or critical environment field (data center, nuclear power, hospital, pharmaceutical, semiconductor)

Five or more years of direct experience with industrial or commercial field engineering in mission critical facilities
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Must be fluent with and possesses an excellent working knowledge of Data Center Critical Environment
Ability to develop solutions and execute plans on complex projects.

An ability and willingness to think outside of the box to find creative and innovative solutions to improve quality / reliability and continuously drive down operating costs.
Comprehensive understanding of both mechanical and electrical equipment, systems and design related to data centers (Including but not limited to: uninterruptable power sources, diesel generators, electrical switchgear, power distribution units, variable frequency drives, automatic/static transfer switches, chillers (air-cooled and water-cooled), pumps, cooling towers, heat exchangers, CRAHs, air economizers.

Extensive knowledge of electricity and medium / low voltage electrical distribution systems.
Extensive experience with emergency backup systems (generators, UPS, battery backup
Familiar with preventative maintenance and work order software systems.

Familiar with Building Management / Building Automation Systems" (BMS/BAS
