Job description
The data architect/lead is responsible for planning activities that define the information/data needs for one of Client large-scale, greenfield modernization project on AWS (“project”) and design the data master blueprints to meet those needs within the context of the overall system architecture and the connections with information systems, information technologies, and solutions. The architect is responsible to provide high quality data, and to identify and define common information requirements and design conceptual structures and plans to meet the current and long-term data requirements of the project. The data architect/lead will serve as the lead database technical resource for strategic oversight and planning of data methodology, database structural design and development.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in CS / Math / Science / Engineering / related technical field or equivalent experience
Minimum of 6+ years of experience in related field
Extensive experience in a Data Architectural and/or Data Integrations role with multiple industry and organizational exposure
Relevant experience architecting, implementing, and maintaining data schemas in conjunction with the microservice driven system architecture
Provide data management support oversight to project teams including data analysis, data diagrams, data architecture and design, data access security, data availability standardizations and methods, data integration, data warehousing and reporting design/development
Proficient in identifying opportunities to reduce redundant data entry with proposed solutions that follow CMS standards/guidelines and industry best practices; identify trends in data usage, single sources of data, and looks to minimize redundant data where feasible, while maintaining an enterprise wide perspective
Extensive exposure and hands-on experience working with databases in AWS environment
Extensive experience with Data Migration, Data Analysis, Data Profiling, Data Flows and Data Modeling
Experience migrating existing data from legacy non-cloud native applications into cloud environments and cloud native architectures
Extensive experience creating and implementing ETL processes
Demonstrated ability to analyze, architect, and model mission critical RDMS, BI, OLTP, OLAP and solutions leveraging multiple DBMS technologies in conjunction with a Microservices driven architecture
Demonstrated experience in architecting and implementing robust data pipelines that efficiently moves data at scale from the various transaction data sources (cloud and non-cloud) to the project’s reporting/DW datastore in Amazon RedShift preferably using Python for transformation
Demonstrated experience with profiling and loading files from various data sources which include RDBMS, OLAP cubes, mainframe file systems, web services, XML, text files and other documents
Demonstrated ability to work with both business and technical users to define and gather reporting/analytics requirements with experience translating business and technical requirements into comprehensive data reporting strategies and analytic solutions
A thorough understanding of enterprise technologies including web technologies, current programming languages, OLTP/OLAP technologies, database platforms, multi-tiered systems, multi-user and multi-tasking operating systems and service-oriented architectures
Excellent verbal and writing skills, along with the ability to develop and present complex material effectively to a variety of audiences
Experience with Agile software methodologies including SAFe, Scrum, and Kanban
Strong interpersonal, problem solving, organizational and multi-tasking skills
Able to work with multiple government customer stakeholders while meeting strict timelines
Ability to work independently and within a team environment
Understanding of one or more modern coding languages such as Python
