The IMD division of TxDOT is seeking an experienced Business Data Analyst (BA) to assist with a business and data analysis IT project. The BA will attend work sessions between subject matter experts (SMEs) and vendor analysts, and will assist in creating and maintaining detailed data project artifacts in WORD, EXCEL, PowerPoint, and VISIO. The person must demonstrate experience in EIM, MDM, Data Governance, Data Integration, Data Quality, Metadata and Content Management project development and be fluent in Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) concepts, deliverables and terminology. The BA must be an experienced technical Business Analyst who has proven ability in analyzing and documenting current data standards, data interface processes along with IT processes and be able to define data flows to match business processes. They will also be developing and managing data requirements through various SDLC methodologies to implementation, and working closely with the business to foster adoption of the new standards to enhance and modify their business practices and processes. Additionally, the worker will have had successful experience in designing and developing project documentation templates for reuse in the business process and data standards area, as well as experience with defining project scope, plans, and creating/managing schedules.

10 Analyze data sets and current data architecture to understand where data standards are required in the architecture to improve overall data quality
10 Development of various data, data integration, data governance and architectural standards
8 Create data profiling rules and queries to run those profiles (technology agnostic)
8 Work with ORACLE and SQL Server databases
5 Work with MDM tool(s)
5 Work with data quality profiling tool(s)
5 Work with data modeling tool(s)
5 Work with reference data standards and metadata standards

Preferred (Optional):

5 Work with Hadoop or other Big Data environment
3 Work with reporting tools to develop dashboards and reports
3 Work with an ETL or ELT tool as an integration architect
