Job Title: Data Architect
Location: Cary NC
Duration: Full time
Responsibilities:
Design & maintain Data platforms for highly transactional & analytical needs
Create logical & physical models of the new/modified business events and services
Reconcile conflicts in syntax and semantics between different existing models
Identify, de-dupe and include all properties of the respective entities in the models
Base the models on existing industry standards and extend to meet our organization’s needs where necessary (Enterprise Data Model, Glossary, Business Data Elements etc
Support inbound & outbound data sourcing requests from owing payment platforms in line with bank’s policies procedures & established frameworks
Understand Data Management maturity challenges and support bank wide efforts around Data Accountability, Data Lineage, Data Contracts, and Data Authority, Data Quality etc.
Work closely with Domain experts/architects, members of the Business, Ops & Technology
Use as input:
o Service repository
o Definitions of current business events
o Samples of real events
o Enterprise data models, data taxonomy & standards
o Application source code
o Application databases
Skills:
10 to 15 years of industry experience with prior data architecture role will be preferable
Prior demonstrable well-rounded experience in any high transaction, low latency OLTP, OLAP, MPP technologies such as Oracle, Exadata, SQL Server, etc.
Data modeling preferably with previous experience using Power designer
Any experience with NoSQL & newSQL (Cloudera Hadoop, mongoDB, Apache Flink etc technologies but not mandatory
Very good understanding of ETL/ELT and related technologies such as Informatica, Pentaho or pure code solutions
Knowledge of key industry standards: ISO 20022, SWIFT etc.
Business knowledge of Banking products and business processes - specifically knowledge of - Transaction Banking, Payment Lifecycle, Cash Management
