Job Description :
We are seeking a Data Analyst to join our Data and Business Intelligence team in our Purchase, NY office.

Main areas of responsibility:
The Data Analyst will interpret and analyze data and transform it into information for all business areas to support their decision making. Responsibilities span the full lifecycle activities including requirements analysis and design, development of analysis and reporting capabilities, and continuous monitoring of performance and quality control plans to identify improvements.
Perform Business and Data Analysis for data warehouse and end user data requests using SQL, and/or other reporting/data mining technologies tools
Work with end users to determine data requirements for reporting requests, data mining requests, the development and delivery of both adhoc/recurring reports, and assisting with testing and implementation from a data lifecycle perspective
Support all compliance technology projects in the analysis, documentation, and socialization of data requirements in accordance with the needs of the technology program
Collaborate with Information Architecture and Business Analysis teams in formulation of requirements for data across all product lines
Develop appropriate data requirements documentation in line with SDLC framework including Data Requirements, mapping, and test plans
Define data quality plans to address data quality issues; work with business partners to build business understanding of data issues
Support day to day production inquiries and questions from other technology groups.
Assist with the end to end project management of reporting and data development projects within the team
Establish strong working relationships with team members and across the business as appropriate
Handle individual workload and deliver upon project milestones on time and on budget
Coordinate project tasks and timelines for data development within the team

Minimum Qualifications:
The ideal candidate is a professional with 3 – 5 years of background as a data analyst and 3+ years of relevant experience with concentration in Data Analysis and Design
Must have experience in property and casualty insurance or in financial services
Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy
Must have experience working with large SQL databases
Adept at queries, report writing and presenting findings
Experience in data warehousing is a required
Strong understanding of Excel
Strong knowledge of relevant technology toolsets for data analysis and documentation including SQL, data modeling, metadata organization, data cleansing, and reporting tools such as Cognos, or other data reporting/data mining tools.

Education:
BS in Mathematics, Finance, Computer Science, Information Management or Statistics
