Role: DB2 UDB Database Administrator
Location: Salem OR

- need candidates that have experience supporting at least one development projects in last 3 years and should have good scripting experience.

DB2 UDB Database Administrator who will be responsible for Database Administration in a fast-paced devops environment supporting large custom development using analytical and transactional databases primarily on DB2 LUW. The Database Administrator will be able to perform troubleshooting any database issues, performance analysis, ensuring database security, evaluating new database trends and technologies, developing and testing Unix/Windows shell scripts, PERL scripting and coding required for database administration and associated database tools.
Responsibilities Include:
Provide DBA support on all aspects of databases administration including backup/recovery, deployment, and real time production troubleshooting responsibilities on DB2 UDB databases.
Install, configure, monitor, upgrade and maintain database non-production & production environments
Provide Database deployment support for Development, Test and Production (future) environments
Diagnose and address database performance issues using performance monitors, custom scripts and various tuning techniques
Strong experience with SQL tuning
Interact with Storage and Systems administrators on Windows operating systems issues related to Databases
Able to write database maintenance and automation scripts
Configure and maintain Database High availability (HADR)
Experience working with clustering software for High availability including Tivoli System Automation (TSA), MSCS.
Troubleshoot database production problems and database connectivity issues
Experience working with database federation
Ability to work well as a team and as an individual with minimal supervision
Experience setting up and monitoring data warehouse environment
Experience with securing DB2 database using one of the industry standards such as PCI, HIPPA, IRS 1075
Qualifications:
More than 3+ years of experience in Database administration
Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Engineering, Computer Science, related field or equivalent work experience
Extensive Database performance tuning experience
Deep knowledge of industry-standard, enterprise-class best practices for a large database environment
Good understanding of Windows platform
Deep understanding of HA, DR Database and storage technologies like Data replication
Experience implementing, supporting and auditing database security
Experience with Windows OS platform and Shell/Perl scripting and automation
Experience with monitoring DB2 by writing custom scripts
Proficiency in Erwin Data Modeler Tool and Data Modeling experience
Preferred Skills:
Experience supporting DB2 databases platform under Windows platforms
Experience working in environment with ETL and reporting tool
Ability to write and provide guidance to developer with writing stored procedure
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Experience working in virtual environment using VMware
Experience working with database deployment tools including Liquibase
